Today would be the 70th birthday of Terrence McKenna
Terrence was a famous ethnobotanist, mystic, psychonaut, lecturer, author, and of course advocate for the responsible use of naturally occurring psychedelic plants.
He was a inspirator for many and spoke and wrote about many subjects including psychedelic drugs, plant-based entheogens, shamanism, metaphysics, alchemy, language, philosophy, culture, technology, environmentalism, and the theoretical origins of human consciousness.
Unfortunately he left our world too soon, but his findings and knowledge will live on.
Stoned Ape Theory
Maybe you have heard of him before and for example his ‘stoned ape theory, he wroe about this in his book ‘Food of the Gods. In this theory he proposed that the transformation from mankind' early ancestors Homo erectus to the species Homo sapiens mainly had to do with the addition of magic mushrooms in their diet.
According to Terence “ is the psilocybin mushroom the megaphone used by an alien, intergalactic to communicate with mankind'
(T).R.I.P Terence and thanks for all your brilliant thoughts, wish him a happy birthday in the comments.
