Depending on your country’s religious configuration you may get a day off work, or maybe even two! You might be deep in the celebration of another holiday like Ramadan or Passover. Either way spring is chock a-block with ancient festivities, all encouraging us to reflect, remember and re-new.

Spring Is In The Air

Regardless of whether you’re religious or not, the earth itself is sending out these messages too. Flowers are blooming, birds are singing, the sun is becoming a regular visitor rather than the recluse we barely saw all winter. You feel the buzz of creation even as you walk down concrete city streets — and it’s not just the wasp that’s following your ice-cream. We humans are creatures of the Earth, so we can’t help but feel its changes too. Embrace them! Spring is not just for those who photosynthesize.

So how do we celebrate this time of year? You may want a new non-religious way to celebrate, or simply a fresh add on to a calendar already packed with religious festivities. Here at Wholecelium we love to find new ways to tap into the spiritual vibes of a season. And we gotta say that re-birth vibe is strong. Not just because it’s spring but also because the world is finally starting to step out from the shadow cast by the pandemic.

Easter Eggs Of A Psychedelic Kind

So, if a spring re-birth festival is the order of the day, it’s gotta include psychedelic mushrooms or truffles. Not just because they are our specialist subject, but also because they really can aid you on a journey of self-discovery and re-birth. To use a seasonal simile — imagine a shroom trip like an Easter egg hunt — skipping around, exploring the garden of your mind, then suddenly finding a shiny prize nestled there amongst the undergrowth. However, this foil-wrapped find is not made of chocolate, it is (if you can imagine) far more valuable. It is insight, a flash of realization, a thought that never occurred to you before. Here are the ‘Easter eggs’ that will last far beyond this moment and into the rest of your life.

Ego Death As Re-Birth

The big daddy of Easter egg finds is surely ego death. This is an experience or aspiration well known by any psychonauts out there. It is when your ‘ego’, or sense of self, dissolves during a psychedelic trip. Temporarily to be sure, but the effects of it stay with you forever. Those who’ve experienced it describe it as enlightenment — a feeling of one-ness with the world, a connection to a higher self. Spirituality, basically. Or as Timothy Leary put it;

“…complete transcendence − beyond words, beyond space-time, beyond self. There are no visions, no sense of self, no thoughts. There is only pure awareness and ecstatic freedom.”

Preparing For Your Psychedelic Easter Egg Hunt

Manage Expectations

So how do you prepare for this psychic psychedelic Easter egg hunt? Your alternate welcoming of the spring?  Firstly, don’t necessarily expect to find a giant life-changing easter egg. Each trip is different. Sometimes it’s a bunch of giggles and cool patterns — the mini-eggs of psychedelic trips. Still delicious! Everything is still worth putting in your psychic basket (are we over-using the metaphor here?) The good-vibes of a shroom trip are known to hang around like a rosy glow for at least a few days afterwards.

Manifest Those Insightful Eggs!

A way to have a better chance at finding those psychic psychedelic eggs is by planning your intentions before your trip. What questions do you have, or areas you want to focus on in your life? Manifesting what you hope to achieve is key to getting the most from a shroom experience. Try writing down your intention and keep it with you during your trip. If you find yourself straying into psychic territories you do not feel comfortable in, you can use it as a talisman to remind yourself of your goal.

Another way to do this is by discussing with friends what you hope to find and why. This can strengthen and clarify what you really want — it’s like making a game plan — a map for your hunt.

Get Started

Set and Setting

Set and setting is a key part of any psychedelic trip — especially a special spring time one! Set is your mind ‘set’, and setting is, well, where you physically are. You must make sure both of these are stable and feelin’ good before you start. Ideally for a spring trip you might be outside, in a garden or park — psychedelics do make you feel closer to nature after all. If you don’t feel like being outside, why not bring some flowers and plants into your home. Create your spring environment, and your spring mindset. Check out our full guide to Set and Setting!

Dosage

All you need to start your psychic psychedelic Easter egg hunt now is the psychedelic itself. Consider what you want from your trip when choosing your dose and shroom strain. For a sun-filled wander round your mind’s garden why not have a medium dose of Pajaritos magic truffles? Its name means ‘little bird’ after all — very spring!  To find the ultimate — ego death — you’ll need a higher dose and a stronger strain such as Maakali. Check out our dosage chart for all you need to know on the topic.

You Want Chocolate? You Got Chocolate

If this time of year wouldn’t be the same to you without chocolate, you can go the whole-hog and use our magic mushroom chocolate recipe to make your dose delicious. Make sure you know how strong each chocolate is before you go munching them all down however!

Another zingy springy way to take your shrooms is with Lemon Tek. Our Lemon Tek recipe tells you how to make this sweet sharp mixture that will amplify your trip due to the citrus juices. You can also make more traditional magic mushroom or truffle tea, and add a slice of lemon. The smoothest way to start your trip!

Finally, you could also just eat them raw. If it ain’t broke… anyway the most important thing is that you start on your journey.

After Your Trip

Like a kid going through your Easter basket, go through what you found on your hunt. Maybe there’s a big gold wrapped egg — a new insight about your life and innermost desires. Maybe there’s some candy-shell mini-eggs — funny realizations and moments where you laughed at nothing. Maybe there’s even a few jellybeans — beginnings of thoughts that haven’t become fully formed yet.

A shroom trip helps you to collect a basket of new possibilities. And as the sun begins to shine and the flowers begin to bloom what could be more refreshing than that?
