Aloha! Though it sounds like it grows in the wild of Hawaii, these mushrooms do not natively grow on the Islands of Hawaii. The PES Hawaii only got its name from the company “Pacific Exotica Spora” based in Hawaii, which first sold this variety. Psilocybe cubensis Hawaii produces large flushes of heavy mushroom fruits. Caps size range from 25-75 mm in diameter with reddish cinnamon brown to golden brown color.
The PES Hawaii strain closely resembles the Cambodian variety, but its mycelium allows for larger fruiting bodies to grow. This is the key difference between the two strains in terms of the appearance and size of the final yield.
